Pineapple is a tropical fruit belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, renowned for its distinctively sweet, tangy flavor and juicy texture. The fruit has a cylindrical shape, spiky green crown, and a tough, textured rind with hexagonal eyes. Inside, the bright yellow pulp is rich in natural sugars, vitamin C, bromelain (a digestive enzyme), and antioxidants—making it both delicious and highly nutritious.
Native to South America, particularly the region between Brazil and Paraguay, pineapple is now widely cultivated in tropical countries including India, the Philippines, Thailand, and Costa Rica. In India, northeastern states like Meghalaya, Assam, and Tripura are major producers. Didwaniya Group sources its pineapples from the most fertile regions to ensure uniform sweetness, proper ripeness, and export-grade quality.

Application
Pineapple is incredibly versatile in global food industries and household kitchens. It is widely consumed fresh as a ready-to-eat fruit or used in salads, smoothies, juices, desserts, and fruit bowls. Its tender and tangy profile makes it a staple in canned fruit mixes and tropical beverages. In cooking, pineapple enhances savory dishes such as pizzas, stir-fries, chutneys, and marinades with a sweet-sour twist. Industrially, it is processed into jams, jellies, juices, syrups, concentrates, and dried fruit snacks. Due to the presence of bromelain, it is also used as a natural meat tenderizer and in dietary supplements supporting digestion and inflammation reduction.
Storage Condition
Store pineapples in a cool, well-ventilated area, ideally at 7–13°C with 85–90% relative humidity. Avoid direct sunlight and excessive refrigeration. For processed or canned forms, follow standard preservation guidelines to maintain shelf life and product integrity.
