Silica Sand
Pure Strength. Industrial Excellence
Didwaniya Group exports premium-grade silica sand known for its high silica content and excellent physical properties. Sourced from select deposits and processed with precision, our silica sand meets stringent quality standards for various industrial applications worldwide.
Silica sand is a naturally occurring granular material composed primarily of silicon dioxide (SiO₂) in the form of quartz. It is characterized by its hardness, chemical inertness, and resistance to heat and abrasion. These qualities make silica sand an essential raw material in industries such as glass manufacturing, foundry casting, construction, and filtration. The sand grains are typically white to light tan in color, with a uniform particle size distribution to ensure consistent performance in specialized applications.
India boasts rich deposits of high-quality silica sand, and Didwaniya Group carefully selects and processes this mineral to deliver premium products tailored to industrial requirements. Our silica sand undergoes thorough washing, screening, and grading to achieve purity and particle size specifications that meet international standards. This makes our silica sand a preferred choice for manufacturers and industries seeking reliable and efficient raw materials.

Characteristics
Chemical Composition: Predominantly silicon dioxide (SiO₂) with minimal impurities
Color: White to light tan, depending on the source and processing
Particle Size: Uniform grain size tailored to industrial needs, typically ranging from 0.1 to 2 mm
Hardness: High Mohs hardness of 7, providing excellent abrasion resistance
Moisture Content: Less than 1.0% to ensure free-flowing and non-caking properties
Bulk Density: Approximately 1.5 to 1.7 g/cm³ depending on granularity and compaction
Purity: Silica content generally above 95%, with low iron oxide for clarity in glass applications
Application
Silica sand is extensively used in the production of glass, including container glass, flat glass, and fiberglass, due to its high silica purity and low iron content. It also serves as a key material in foundry molds and cores, providing excellent thermal resistance and strength for metal casting. Additionally, silica sand is widely used as a filtration medium in water treatment plants, as a filler in construction materials like concrete and mortar, and in hydraulic fracturing (fracking) for oil and gas extraction. Its versatility and durability make it indispensable across multiple industrial sectors.
Storage Condition
Store silica sand in dry, clean, and well-ventilated warehouses free from moisture and contaminants. Maintain a relative humidity of no more than 65% and a temperature not exceeding 30°C to preserve product integrity and prevent caking or contamination.
