High-whiteness China Clay (kaolin) powder in a heap — premium industrial grade supplied by Didwaniya Group

China Clay

Purity in Every Particle. Consistent Performance

Didwaniya Group supplies premium-grade China Clay (kaolin) known for its high whiteness, fine particle size, and excellent chemical stability. Sourced from trusted mines and processed under strict quality controls, our China Clay meets the needs of coatings, ceramics, paper, plastics, and detergent manufacturers seeking consistent performance and reliable supply.

China Clay, commonly known as kaolin, is a naturally occurring soft white clay primarily composed of the mineral kaolinite (Al₂Si₂O₅(OH)₄). Formed by the chemical weathering of aluminosilicate minerals, it is prized in industry for its whiteness, particle fineness, and inertness. Depending on its formation and beneficiation, China Clay may be supplied as a raw, calcined, or surface-modified product to meet different technical specifications.

Major industrial uses of China Clay stem from its ability to improve opacity, brightness, rheology, and paper formation, as well as to act as a functional filler in ceramics, paints, rubber, plastics, and household cleaners. Didwaniya Group focuses on consistent beneficiation and quality assurance, delivering kaolin that balances optical properties with process performance for downstream formulators and manufacturers.

Characteristics

Mineralogy: Predominantly kaolinite with minor amounts of quartz, mica, and iron oxides.

Appearance (Structure): Fine, plate-like particles; free-flowing white to off-white powder.

Color / Whiteness (ISO): High whiteness; typical ISO brightness values depend on grade (custom specs available).

Median Particle Size (D50): Typically 0.5–5.0 µm (varies by grade).

Surface Area (BET): Typical range 5–30 m²/g depending on processing.

Loss on Ignition (LOI): Typical 6–15% (grade dependent).

Moisture Content, % (max): 1.0–6.0% (depending on dry or hydrated form).

pH (10% slurry): Typically 6.5–8.5.

Specific Gravity: ~2.6–2.7 g/cm³.

Oil Absorption: Varies by grade; relevant for coatings and rubber applications.

Impurities: Low iron and titanium oxides for high-whiteness grades; custom de-ironized grades available on request.

Application

China Clay is widely used as a functional filler and pigment extender. In the paper industry it enhances brightness, smoothness, and printability; in paints and coatings it improves opacity, gloss control and suspension stability; in ceramics it contributes to plasticity and whiteness; in rubber and plastics it acts as a reinforcing and cost-reducing filler; and in detergents and personal care products it provides bulk and suspension control. Calcined kaolin grades are used where higher refractoriness, opacity, or pigmentary performance is required.

Storage Condition

Store China Clay in clean, dry, well-ventilated warehouses, protected from moisture, contamination and direct sunlight. Maintain relative humidity below 75% and ambient temperatures below 30°C. Use sealed bulk bags (FIBCs) or covered silos for long-term storage; avoid prolonged exposure to moisture which can cause caking and affect flow properties.
