Bentonite

Absorbent Power. Versatile Performance

Didwaniya Group supplies premium-grade bentonite renowned for its exceptional swelling, binding, and absorbent properties. Carefully processed and quality-tested, our bentonite serves industries worldwide, including foundry, drilling, construction, agriculture, and environmental applications, ensuring consistency, purity, and reliability.

Bentonite is a naturally occurring clay formed from the weathering of volcanic ash, primarily composed of montmorillonite. It is known for its remarkable ability to absorb water and expand, creating a gel-like consistency that makes it indispensable across multiple industries. The clay varies in color—ranging from cream to grayish-brown—depending on its mineral content and origin. Its unique chemical composition and structure give it high cation exchange capacity and excellent bonding strength, making it suitable for both industrial and environmental uses.

India is among the leading producers and exporters of bentonite, with rich deposits found in states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Kutch. Didwaniya Group ensures that its bentonite is sourced from select high-quality reserves, processed with precision, and tested for optimal performance. Our bentonite adheres to strict industry standards, making it a preferred choice for global clients in diverse sectors.

Applications

Bentonite finds extensive applications across various industries. In the foundry sector, it is used as a binding agent in sand molds for metal casting. In drilling, especially oil and gas exploration, it acts as a lubricant and stabilizer for boreholes. The construction industry utilizes bentonite in slurry walls and waterproofing, while agriculture benefits from its soil conditioning properties. It is also vital in wastewater treatment, pelletizing of iron ore, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and as a natural sealant for ponds and landfills.

Storage Condition

Store in a dry, clean, and well-ventilated warehouse, free from pests and contaminants. Avoid direct contact with moisture and maintain a relative humidity below 75% at a temperature not exceeding 25°C to preserve its swelling and binding properties.
